Membership numbers up over 20% in 2019

NYWAY Championships

All weekend long, NYWAY is having its annual post season regional tournaments.  Every region of New York will host qualifying events for NYWAY members to earn the right to compete at the NYWAY State Championships.

This year, as in most, NYWAY has seen an increase of 20-25% in membership annually.  That increase will again make NYWAY State Championships the largest wrestling tournament in New York.  Last year NYWAY saw 1490 boys and girls compete for a State Championship at SUNY Brockport.

With the Regional registration closing Saturday night, NYWAY looks to again increase in its membership.  NYWAY has set a goal to have 1600 boys and girls vie for a NYWAY State Title next weekend at SUNY Brockport.

Good luck to all competing this weekend. For information on the NYWAY State Championships please visit their website at www.nyway.org.
