Team Race:

Host Windsor is aiming towards the top of the team race in this 2 day tournament that always provide suspense and excitement. Ranked #7 by NYWN, the Black Knights have a solid team up and down their lineup. The Tioga Tigers, currently #2 in Division 2, bring a bus load of talent led by the Worthing Brothers. Like any tournament, getting wrestlers into the placement round is crucial and the Tigers may lead all teams in that category. Defending Champions Norwich aim for their second straight Windsor title. Led by State Champion Dante Geislinger, the Tornadoes will challenge Windsor and Tioga  for supremacy.

A number of out of section schools will be in attendance. Section 3's Indian River is a solid top 5 team and  brings the most balanced lineup from the CNY area. Phoenix, JD/CBA and Homer all brings solid individuals that should contend for an individual championship. From the west, Section 5's Honeoye Falls-Lima and Canadaigua make their presence known each year. HFL's 2x NYS Champion Anthony Noto is the favorite at 113lbs. The Capital Region, Section 2, brings 4 teams Colonie, Hoosick Falls, LaSalle and Saratoga Springs. Downstate, ELSW of section 9 and defending NYS Dual Meet Champions Mt. Sinai of section 11 look to kick off the new year with a bang. Both teams should bring full lineups and plenty of experience.

It is always an unknown when you have out of state teams coming to NY. This year, 4 teams cross state lines to tangle with some of NY's finest. It is a mystery to what Mountain View, Panther Valley, Suffield and Towanda  bring to the table. It is a pleasure to see different competition from different states in-season.
