Season Preview: College of Mount St. Vincent

Dean Zenie is back for his second year as the head coach of the College of Mount St. Vincent wrestling team. Let's take a look at what he has to say about this year's squad. 

NYWN: How would you summarize last season for your team? 

Dean Zenie (DZ): Survival - it was the fourth year of the program, but my first as coach.  There were only 7 wrestlers (4 seniors).

NYWN: Who are your top returning wrestlers? 

DZ: Connor Hay (133), Pat Polintan (165) 

NYWN: Who are the top wrestlers who graduated/moved on from your team? 

DZ: Karl Schmitt (174) Captain. He is now an assistant coach.

NYWN: What newcomers do you think will make an impact?

NYWN: What are the highlights of your schedule this year?

DZ: Wrestling at the Grapple at the Garden (11/27)

NYWN: What do you see as your team's biggest strengths this season? 

DZ: Youth, with 12 freshmen and 3 sophomores.  Also, we have no seniors.

NYWN: What are your goals/expectations for this season?  

DZ: To be a solid team and be able to compete with anyone and to continue the building process.
