Hofstra University Head Wrestling Coach Dennis Papadatos Monday announced the Pride's 2016-17 schedule that includes five tournaments and 17 dual matches.

The Pride will open the season with back-to-back tournaments competing in the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open in Binghamton, NY on November 13 and the New York State Collegiate Championship at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY on November 20. Hofstra will begin dual match competition and wrap up its November schedule on November 27 at the fifth annual Grapple at the Garden at Madison Square Garden. The Pride will face Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) foe, Cornell University and George Mason University in the Grapple at the Garden.
The month of December opens with the six team, Journeymen Tussle Tournament at Hofstra's David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on December 4. The Pride will then return to dual match competition for another EIWA contest at Binghamton University on December 9. Hofstra closes out the month and the 2016 portion of the schedule at the Lock Haven Classic on December 29.
The Pride will keep busy in January with eight dual matches starting off with a contest at Bloomsburg University on January 6. Hofstra will return to Long Island for two matches in the LIU Post Duals in Brookville on January 8. The Pride will face East Stroudsburg University and Duke University in the LIU Post Duals.
After another EIWA match at Sacred Heart University on January 13, Hofstra will head back to Pennsylvania for the Clarion Duals on January 15. The Pride will face West Liberty University and the host Golden Eagles of Clarion University.
The following Saturday, January 21, Hofstra will officially open its home schedule and have an EIWA home and away doubleheader. The Pride will host the Cadets of Army West Point at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex at 1 p.m. before making the 30-minute drive into New York City for a 7 p.m. match against the Lions of Columbia University.
Hofstra completes the month with a home match against the University at Buffalo on January 28 at the David S. Mack Physical Education Center (PEC) at 1 p.m.
The Pride opens February with another EIWA double-dual day on February 4 when Hofstra travels to Lancaster, PA to face the Diplomats of Franklin and Marshall College at 2 p.m. before trekking over to Philadelphia for a 7 p.m. match at Drexel University.
Hofstra completes its regular season with three consecutive home matches. The Pride will host longtime foe, Rider University on February 9 and EIWA-opponent Harvard University on February 17 at the Mack Sports Complex. Hofstra will then honor its wrestling seniors on Senior Day against EIWA-foe Brown University on February 18 at the Mack Physical Education Center (PEC).
The Pride will compete in their fourth EIWA Championship on Friday and Saturday, March 3-4 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.
