July 1 is the first day coaches can do in-home recruiting visits with members of the Class of 2017.
So, before that day hits, let's take a look at the commitments from New York wrestlers and colleges from the Class of 2016.
The list of all the commitments we've been made aware of is here.
A few schools have multiple recent high school graduates who were state champions in their senior seasons heading their way.
Princeton will welcome a trio of NYS titlewinners, all of whom came out on top at the Times Union Center twice - Kevin Parker (Shenendehowa), Christian Araneo (Ward Melville) and Matteo DeVincenzo (Port Jefferson).
In addition, North Carolina State will add New York gold medalists Tommy Cox (Deer Park) and Kellen Devlin (Amherst) to their roster. Fellow ACC school Virginia will bring heavyweight state champ Edwin Rubio of John Glenn into the mix.
Quite a few NYS first place finishers from this year will be staying in the Empire State for college. That includes Alex Herringshaw (Holland Patent) and Jack Buell (Sherburne-Earlville), who committed to Army West Point and the University at Buffalo pair of Brad Bihler (Maple Grove) and Kobe Garrehy (Maine-Endwell). In addition, Division 1 120-pound winner Anthony Sparacio of North Babylon will attend LIU Post, while Division 2 titlist Ricardo Dawkins of General Brown will compete in the upperweights for Cortland.
Another NYS champ, AJ Aeberli of Minisink Valley, is on his way to the Coast Guard Academy.
