On Track for NCAAs? First Coaches Panel Rankings Released

By BV, 01/23/14, 7:15PM EST

On Thursday, the first NCAA Coaches Panel Rankings were released, revealing the top 33 wrestlers at each weight.  There will be three editions of these rankings.  The final set will be one of the key factors used to determine qualifiers for the 2014 NCAA tournament in Oklahoma City.

Nine of Cornell's wrestlers are on the list, including the #1 grappler at 125 pounds - Nahshon Garrett. The only Big Red starter not featured is 133-pounder Mark Grey, who is likely excluded because he has not competed in the past 30 days.

Hofstra, Columbia and Army all had four team members listed, while Binghamton had three. Former Rocky Point standout Stephen Dutton recently entered the lineup for Michigan, but likely didn't have enough matches to qualify for these rankings, while Hofstra's Luke Vaith is another 141-pounder we expect to see ranked.
