Year in Review: New York State

First and foremost, we hope that everybody and their families are doing well and being safe during this strange time of our lives. I know most are itching to get their off-season wrestling under way because we all know that summer wrestling makes winter champions.

UPDATE: NHSCA Nationals have been cancelled as well as the 1000 Duals held annually in Clayton, NY

A plethora of New York's finest traveled west to Wisconsin to compete in the Cheesehead Apocalypse. Three wrestlers claimed individual title, Click Here for the full article.

As we continue our Year in Review Series, it is a great reminder of all of the accomplishments from this past season from all of our student athletes. The cheers and jeers along with the grind that is high school wrestling.

Each Year In Review recap consist of the highs and the lows and everything in between. On top of the recap, Sectional rankings will be posted by class and a top 20 pound for pound overall. NYWN will also highlight 10 wrestlers that we expect to breakthrough in 2021 and make the New York State Tournament for the first time.

All returning NYS Place Finishers and qualifiers will be listed as well giving everybody an early in depth look on the strength of each section heading into 2021.

This is a great opportunity to gain some insight, knowledge and perspective on each and every section in the state. Lastly, don't forget to check out our poll question at the end!
