Section 1 - Nanuet Golden Knights

Record: 21-4 (NYWN HM)

Notable Wins:
- Pleasantville 42-40

Notable Losses:
- #5 Port Jervis 53-27
- Red Hook 45-33

Top Wrestlers:
- 285lbs - #10 Darius Palmer
- 126lbs - #14 Chris DiModugno
- 195lbs - John Kiernan
- 145lbs - Tyler Nicholson
- 113lbs - Riley Stemmerman

Past NYS Duals History:
- First appearance

Overview:
The Golden Knights won the section 1 tournament in style taking down defending champs Pleasantville. Next up, their pool draw with defending runner-ups Central Valley and 2019 semi-finalist Tioga...OUCH!

The herculean task begins with CVA. The young Golden Knight squad has an uphill battle right out of the gate. Strap on the headgear a little tighter for this wild ride.

Section 2 - Cobleskill Richmondville Bulldogs

Record: 12-0 (NYWN #3)

Notable Wins:
- #13 Tamarac 48-39
- #19 Warrensburg 43-42

Notable Losses:

Top Wrestlers:
- 182lbs - #1 Ethan Cooper
- 220lbs - #3 Jeff Crooks
- 138lbs - #9 Greg Hotlaing
- 195lbs - #14 Hunter Edwards
- 120lbs - Gus Spohn

Past NYS Duals History:
- First trip

Overview:
The Bulldogs claimed their first section 2 championship with a win over a solid Tamarac team. They get Clarke in Round 1 and need to keep their undefeated season going if they are looking to advance.

This C-R team grinds out wins and are no stranger to nail biters. It's almost like they strive on high intense moments of close dual meets. If any of their duals come down to the last match, i'm going with the Bulldogs based on their track record. Side note: If C-R has Ethan Cooper for the final match, Bulldgos win...write it down. This kid is an absolute hammer!

Section 3 - Central Valley Academy Thunder

Record: 30-2 (NYWN #9)

Notable Wins:
- #17 Saranac 45-30
- Burnt Hills 43-36

Notable Losses:
- #8 Shoreham Wading River 41-35
- D1 #17 Hilton 51-27

Top Wrestlers:
- 132lbs - #2 Marek Bush
- 120lbs - #6 Mason Bush
- 152lbs - #10 Keagan Case
- 126lbs - Kace Cook
- 145lbs - Anderson Klosner

Past NYS Duals History:
- 3rd straight appearance @ NYS Duals
- 4-2 lifetime team record
- 2018 NYS Division 2 Dual Meet Runner-Up

Overview:
Initially,  Central Valley has to be considered one of the favorites overall. They have 30 wins on the season and are the defending runner-up. Their lineup is very solid top to bottom with very few holes. Their depth allows the coaching staff to jocky the lineup with ease.

The Thunder score points in bunches especially between 120lbs-160lbs. They lose very few of those matches at those weights. They can put dual meets out of hand very quickly. Scoring bonus points in the normal for the Section 3 powerhouse.

Section 4 - Tioga Tigers

Record: 7-0 (NYWN #4)

Notable Wins:
- #7 Windsor 40-34

Notable Losses:

Top Wrestlers:
- 138lbs - #1 Brady Worthing
- 99lbs - #2 Gianni Silvestri
- 152lbs - #3 Emmett Wood
- 106lbs - #5 Caden Bellis
- 120lbs - #10 Donovan Smith

Past NYS Duals History:
- 3rd straight appearance @ NYS Duals
- 3-3 lifetime team record
- Semi-Finalist is 2018 and 2019

Overview:
Perhaps Tioga may be getting a little overshadowed in their pool because of returning runner-up Central Valley. Fact: Tioga has made the semi-finals in both seasons. Fact: Tioga has pushed 2x Defending Champs Mt. Sinai in the semi-finals losing by single digits each year. Fact: This year's Tiger squad may be the best of the previous 2.

FACT: Round 3 between Tioga and CVA will be a dynamic chess match between two great coaches, Harrington and Bush.

My eyes will be glued to this mat until completion.

Section 5 - Palmyra Macedon Red Raiders

Record: 21-9 (NYWN #18)

Notable Wins:
- #20 Canisteo Greenwood 45-26

Notable Losses:
- #1 Falconer 53-24
- #14 Newfane 46-31
- #15 Pioneer 54-27
- #16 Fredonia 43-39

Top Wrestlers:
- 145lbs - #1 Ethan Ferro
- 138lbs - #2 Kaleb Burgess
- 106lbs - #3 Jace Schafer
- 106lbs - #8 Dominic Affronti
- 170lbs - Jake Pate

Past NYS Duals History:
- First trip

Overview:
Ferro, Burgess and Schafer....a near guaranteed 18 points. That is nearly half of what it takes to clinch a dual meet. That is a very dangerous thought which makes Pal-Mac a quiet assassin.

We are all aware of the success of Mt. Sinai over the previous two seasons. Is there an upset brewing in round 1 that will shock the entire SRC Arena? The Red Raiders get first crack at the defeding champs.

Section 6 - Falconer Golden Falcons

Record: 28-1 (NYWN #1)

Notable Wins:
- #12 Iroquois 42-27
- #14 Newfane 43-31
- #16 Fredonia 45-24
- #18 Palmyra Macedon 53-24
- #20 Canisteo-Greenwood 48-26
- D1 #17 Hilton 49-26

Notable Losses:
- Brookfield (PA) 34-27

Top Wrestlers:
- 182lbs - #4 Hudson Johnson
- 106lbs - #7 Brayden Newman
- 113lbs - #11 Austin Chase
- 126lbs - #13 Joey Pillittieri
- 195lbs - #13 Brock Johnson
- 152lbs - #14 Bryce Baglia

Past NYS Duals History:
- 3rd straight appearance @ NYS Duals
- 3-2 lifetime team record
- 2019 Semi-Finalist

Overview:
It seems as if Falconer has set the standard in Western NY. Seriously though, look at their box scores. They are running through teams with ease. Ranked wrestler after ranked wrestler, continually doing their job and getting bonus points at will. The Golden Falcons should not be taken lightly and you'll find yourself in a sink hole of a deficit.

NYWN has Falconer at #1. Pool opponent Cobleskill-Richmondville is undefeated at 3 and #10 Clarke is riding high after taking down Cold Spring Harbor in the Nassau county finals. Anticipation is building making the each dual meet more crucial than the previous.

Section 7 - Saranac Chiefs

Record: 17-4 (NYWN #17)

Notable Wins:
- Peru 37-35/39-21
- Ballston Spa 43-40

Notable Losses:
- #8 Shoreham Wading River 54-18
- #9 Central Valley 45-30

Top Wrestlers:
- 152lbs - #7 Bryce Smith
- 99lbs - #12 Ryan Devins
- 138lbs - #12 Robert Foley
- 132lbs - #13 Alex Christman
- 126lbs - Hunter Devins

Past NYS Duals History:
- 2nd straight trip
- 1-1 lifetime team record

Overview:
I will start out saying that being in a pool with Mt.Sinai has not worked out for any team in the past two seasons. With that, Saranac has the opportunity to do something that no other division 2 team has done in history...defeat Mt. Sinai.

The Chiefs however will not get their chance until round 3. A solid Pal-Mac team is first on the slate in round 2. Saranac has multiple Section 7 champions in their lineup and are accustomed to the big stage. Senior Bryce Smith is the unsung leader and they will lean on him as well as Robert Foley and Alex Christman to led the Chiefs into battle.

Section 8 - Clarke Rams

Record: 12-5 (NYWN #10)

Notable Wins:
- #11 Cold Spring Harbor 45-35
- HM Seaford 66-15/43-30

Notable Losses:
- #11 Cold Spring Harbor 41-40
- D1 #15 Wantagh 41-36

Top Wrestlers:
- 220lbs - #1 Osmond Bouyer
- 126lbs - #5 Jordan Soriano
- 138lbs - Aiden Yurdiga
- 182lbs - Maxwell DeLeon
- 195lbs - Justin Soriano

Past NYS Duals History:
- First trip

Overview:
I'd say look out for the Rams. They got back NYS place finisher Jordan Soriano (inury). They just took down a solid Seaford team (semis) and defending Section 8 champs Cold Spring Harbor in the finals.

This is no fluke and the Rams can scrap. Osmond Bouyer is a machine, plain and simple. Good luck slowing this giant down. Clarke's middlewights are quietly good and consistent. Max Deleon and Justin Soriano join Bouyer on the back end making it difficult for opponents to find points.

Section 9 - Port Jervis Raiders

Record: 26-1 (NYWN #5)

Notable Wins:
- HM Nanuet 53-27
- HM Red Hook 56-12
- Warwick 36-31

Notable Losses:
- Warwick 42-41

Top Wrestlers:
- 220lbs - #3 James Oosterom
- 99lbs - #15 Trevor Tufano
- 138lbs - #6 Eric Tigue
- 113lbs - Ryan Ross
- 132lbs - Joey Amato

Past NYS Duals History:
- 2nd appearance (2018)
- 1-1 lifetime team record

Overview:
After a 1 year lapse the Raiders return to Syracuse after a 1-1 performance in 2018. Port Jervis absolutely steamrolled the division 2 side of Section 9 this year. Can the momentum carry over into this weekend?

A huge unknown is in store for Pool 1. You have a wildcard #1 seed in Cold Spring Harbor and team in Gouverneur that doesn't have many dual meets to date. I am utterly intrigued with pool 1 and cannot wait until that first whistle blows.

Section 10 - Gouverneur Wildcats

Record: 6-0 (NYWN #2)

Notable Wins:
- Canton 59-21/51-33

Notable Losses:

Top Wrestlers:
- 138lbs - #3 Carter Baer
- 182lbs - #9 Jacob Shippee
- 170lbs - #10 Tyler Tupper
- 152lbs - #12 Joseph Cummings
- 126lbs - Vandavian Way

Past NYS Duals History:
- 2nd appearance (2018)
- 0-2 lifetime team record

Overview:
The Wildcats travel down 81 South to make their 2nd trip to the Duals. Gouverneur doesn't have many dual meets under their belt however they do have a lot of experience in their lineup led by 2x NYS place finisher Carter Baer.

All eyes should be on pool 1. I truly feel any of the 3 teams can win this one. Each dual meet score differential should be in single digits making it an enjoyable three dual meets to watch.

Section 11 - Mt. Sinai Mustangs

Record: 18-5 (NYWN #6)

Notable Wins:
- #8 Shoreham Wading River 42-27
- Lindenhurst 37-36

Notable Losses:
- D1 #7 Patchogue-Medford 33-30
- D1 #8 Commack 51-24
- D1 #9 Brentwood 36-34
- D1 #12 Miller Place 47-24

Top Wrestlers:
- 99lbs - #1 Brayden Fahrbach
- 170lbs - #2 Matt Campo
- 138lbs - #5 Mike O'Brien
- 182lbs - #5 Joe Goodrich
- 195lbs - #5 Adham Shata

Past NYS Duals History:
- 3rd straight appearance
- 6-0 lifetime team record
- 2x NYS Division 2 Dual Meet Champions (2018, 2019)

Overview:
Back to back NYS Dual Meet Champions. The Mustangs always bring their "A" game, plain and simple. Truly a pleasure to watch them in action.

Wildcard - Section 8 - Cold Spring Harbor Seahawks

Record: 14-5 (NYWN #11)

Notable Wins:
- #10 Clarke 41-40
- HM Seaford 39-34
- D1 #8 Commack 42-38
- D1 HM Manhasset 34-33

Notable Losses:
- #10 Clarke 45-35
- D1 #3 MacArthur 47-24
- D1 #10 Islip 41-39
- D1 #11 Hauppauge 48-34
- D1 #13 Northport 41-33

Top Wrestlers:
- 152lbs - #1 Christian Hansen
- 113lbs - #2 Jackson Polo
- 160lbs - #2 Gaven Bell
- 195lbs - #3 Kolton Gagnon
- 285lbs - #11 Ethan Burdo

Past NYS Duals History:
- 2nd straight appearance
- 0-2 lifetime team record

Overview:
Although a wildcard, Cold Spring Harbor is the top seed in this weekend's event. They will be paired with Port Jervis and Gouverneur whom have a combined record of 32-1. This is arguably the pool to watch in D2 this weekend.

The Seahawks have 5 ranked wrestlers in their lineup, 4 of which are ranked in the top 3. In a nuthsell, Cold Spring Harbor is in the same boat as Commack...a big "What-If."
