1. Frankie Gissendanner (Penfield) - Gissendanner, who was nationally ranked at 145 pounds all year as a sophomore, is currently listed as the #10 recruit in the country in the Class of 2018 by Intermat. The Section 5 star showed he could compete with upperclassmen right away at the varsity level, placing at the Eastern States as a seventh grader at 126 pounds before winning a match at the state tournament that year. He then took fourth place as an eighth grader at 132 before becoming a rare middleweight freshman state champion at 138 pounds in 2015. Gissendanner topped a nationally-ranked competitor, Mike D’Angelo of Commack, for that NYS title. (D’Angelo was Princeton's 149-pound representative at the EIWA tournament in 2016). Gissendanner added a second New York crown in dominant fashion as a sophomore at 145 pounds, with a pin, two majors and a 10-4 decision in the championship match. He also placed at FloNationals in 2015 and grabbed fourth at the UWW Cadet Nationals this spring.
