On Sunday at Fargo, New Rochelle's Jake Logan kept rolling in Cadet Freestyle at 182 pounds, earning a spot in the finals.
Logan, who made the podium in high school action this past season, has won his five bouts by a combined score of 38-0. He has beaten opponents from Oregon, Illinois, New Jersey, Idaho and Arizona and will meet Missouri's Devin Winston for the championship.
Two New Yorkers will compete for fifth place - Stevo Poulin (88 pounds) and Jordan Titus (94).
Poulin has earned five victories in his Fargo debut, four by technical fall. He will match up with Brandon O'Brien of Iowa for fifth.
Titus, a NYS runner up in 2017 for Center Moriches, has won four times at Fargo and will take on Cooper Flynn of Tennessee in his medal match.
Multiple time NYS placer Jacob Nolan of Saranac also earned All-American honors. He compiled four wins at 160 pounds so far and next faces James Cagnina of Illinois for seventh.
Meanwhile, in Junior Freestyle, Long Beach's Elijah Rodriguez was the lone New York wrestler to advance to the Round of 16 on Sunday. The Eastern States champion defeated foes from Ohio and Iowa at 195 pounds on his first day of action in North Dakota and will next battle Sergio Villolobos of Illinois.
A number of NY wrestlers are moving on to Monday's action in the consolation bracket.
Returning Fargo All-American Dylan Ryder of Half Hollow Hills West got his hand raised twice. The state champ will take on Nathan Cummings of Illinois on Monday.
Speaking of state champs ... Kendall Elfstrum of Monroe Woodbury picked up two victories at 195 pounds and will look to continue his run against Oklahoma's Bear Hughes.
Also at 195, Victor Marzano of Poly Prep won twice in the wrestlebacks to earn a spot on day two of the Junior Freestyle event against Michael Doggett of Pennsylvania.
Shenendehowa's Kiernan Shanahan had a busy day on Sunday. After dropping his opening bout 10-10 on criteria, the state finalist captured four straight in the wrestlebacks at 145. He will look to keep the momentum going versus Caden Moore of South Dakota.
2017 NYS third placer Jack Chesman of Pearl River remains in the 152 pound bracket after a pair of wins. His next opponent will be Baylor Fernandes of Illinois.
Multiple-time state placer Michael Gonyea of Columbia prevailed twice at 120 pounds and will next clash with Kyle Burwick of North Dakota.
Conor Melbourne of John Jay Cross River, a former state medalist, had four wins on Sunday at 160 and next faces Carter Rohweder of Iowa.
State qualifier Dylan Nerich of William C Bryant will meet Tyrell Gordon in his next bout on Monday at 220 pounds.
Liam McIntyre of Westhampton Beach won two times on Sunday, setting up a 170 pound consolation match with Brian Holloway of Illinois.
