Fargo national champion Michaela Beck of New York picked up a bronze medal at 56 kg/123 pounds at the Cadet Pan Am Championships in Buenos Aires.
She got off to a strong start, notching 10-0 technical falls in her first two matches over opponents from Canada and the host country of Argentina.
Beck then followed with a 7-2 victory against Mexico's Gloria Marquez Gomez. However, she was injured in that bout and forfeited her final match, sending her to third in the round robin. [Saige Evertman, whom Beck beat by tech fall, took the gold].
Beck was part of a United States squad that dominated the Cadet Pan Ams, winning the team race by more than 25 points over Mexico.
The American women finished with nine medals, including six gold.
